FriPeri

FriPeri is a lightweight, self-hosted publishing tool designed for people who want to create a personal website, blog, notes archive, portfolio, or project page without using a complex content management system.
Its main idea is simplicity: you can publish regular blog-style content, or build a more personalized website using visual content blocks, all from the same browser-based administration panel.
A simplified tool for building both a blog and a personalized website.
Blog or personal website — or both
FriPeri supports two different ways of building a homepage.
You can use an automatically updated content feed for a more traditional blog-style website, or create a Custom Home page manually using visual blocks. This makes it possible to use FriPeri as a simple blog, a personal homepage, a project website, or a combination of these.
Simple visual editing
Pages and posts are created with a shared block-based editor. You can combine headings, formatted text, images, videos, buttons, lists, tables, quotes, callouts, statistics, FAQs, dividers, and automatically updated category lists.
The same editor can be used for the homepage, individual pages, the About page, blog posts, and notes, which keeps the publishing workflow consistent throughout the site.
Built for personal publishing
FriPeri includes the essentials needed to manage a small personal website:
- Blog posts, notes, and custom content categories
- Standalone pages
- Custom navigation and nested menus
- Images and video
- Social profile links
- Contact form and message inbox
- Optional secondary-language content
- Website color and footer customization
- Backup and restore tools
These features are managed from a single administration interface.
Self-hosted and lightweight
FriPeri runs on your own server and stores its site content and configuration in SQLite. It does not require an external database server, Node.js runtime, frontend build process, or hosted editing service. It is built with Python, FastAPI, Jinja2, Uvicorn, and SQLite.
Who is FriPeri for?
FriPeri sits somewhere between a simple blogging engine and a full CMS:
Enough flexibility to make the site your own, without unnecessary complexity. It can be used for:
Personal websites · Blogs · Notes · Portfolios · Project pages · Small independent websites
The aim is not to provide every feature found in a large CMS. Instead, FriPeri focuses on making the most common personal publishing tasks straightforward while still allowing the website itself to feel personal.
